Its Raya ~ Let's Celebrate

Congratulations to all. I believed that all of you had passed all the temptations during fasting month. The temptations of eating and drinking. The temptations of doing bad to others too. I'm not sure about myself. Hopefully, I haven't done all that during Ramadhan and I'll try to continue to do the same to the rest of my life. I hope, you guys will do the same.

Last night, I watched the Raya Message given by our Prime Minister, YAB Datuk Seri Najib Bin Tun Abdul Razak. In the first few paragraph, he said;
"We, as Malaysians, should be grateful, especially during this Raya Celebration, because we could celebrate Raya in peace and harmony with no major disaster, unlike other Muslims throughout the world."
That was what I could grab and translate into this post, since it was given in Malay and I couldn't find the video yet at this time. However, the key point here is that, we should be grateful. In my opinion, it was a very powerful sentence and it is true.

We, as Malaysians, are very lucky. I noticed this a long time ago. We are very fortunate. Our country is not in the path of Ring of Fire, which might cause earthquake. Our country doesn't have an active volcano, which may create a major concerns to the government. Our country doesn't get any other major disasters such as a typhoon, tornado, long drought an even a heavy flood just like in Pakistan. The best of all, our country is a multiracial country, who lives in peace and harmony(even though there are some disputes over power here and there, but i'll just ignore them). So, aren't we lucky enough?

Raya is not only about gathering and forgiveness. It is also about getting to know other people much better and Raya, is one of the best platform to do that. This is the time to "catch up". This is the time to update yourself to the well-being of your friends, your relatives and your neighbors. So, spend some of your time to visit them while you can even though you're busy with work.

However, lets not forget those who are unfortunate. Those who doesn't have money to celebrate Raya, those orphans who doesn't have parents anymore and even those who were left by their children. Deep inside them, I'm sure they want to buy new shirts or shoes, and celebrate Raya with their families. Think about how do you feel when you are in their positions. So, let's do some good deeds with what you have. Why don't you pay Zakat Fitrah(charity for those who are unfortunate) for a start?

With this opportunity, I would like to say thanks to Allah, for giving me the time once again to celebrate Raya with family and friends. I hope that it would be full of joy and fun. Next, I would like to say thanks to my parents, who had given me this life for almost 24 years. I am also grateful for giving me educations till I'm able to graduate from a prestige university. Not to mention, all the time and money you had spend on me till I'm able to stand on my own. I am really grateful. Thus, I wish and I hope that I will be able to repay all of your sacrifices through the rest of my life.

syaftome ~ Happy Raya
