Tips: Quit Smoking

"It's impossible to stop smoking. It ain't easy." My father said this when we were talking on the issue of smoking. I used to hear that when I was a little boy, but still, until today, he smoke. So, you could say that he is quite a hardcore smoker.

It's impossible. Nah, I don't think so. How do you know that its impossible if you don't even try? How do you know its impossible, if you don't do anything, if you don't try any method, if you don't have the will to stop? I'm sure some of you would say, "It's easy for you to say." Yeah, it's easy, but I know it is not difficult. It is not impossible.
So, let's see some of the things(tips) that you could do to stop smoking;
  • Learn about the dangers of smoking.
  • Announce your decision to quit smoking to everybody you know.
  • Get rid of every item that has any connection with cigarettes like ash trays, lighters, etc.
  • Drink lots of water, this will help you to flush away the toxins in your body.
  • Eat more fruits and vegetables to reduce your addiction to nicotine.
  • Adopt an active lifestyle, sport activities would help to facilitate blood circulation to your entire body. Exercise can help to regulate body temperature and proper functioning of your organs. Exercising is good for you.
  • Avoid places where smoking is common, eg. night clubs, karaoke centers and bars.
  • Refuse any cigarette offer. Try to stop smoking completely, otherwise this would hamper your effort to quit and you may be inclined to smoke again.

See, the tips isn't difficult. It just need some perseverance and persistence. I know, when you are addicted to something, its hard to get out of it. I'm sure each and every one of us have some kind of addiction and I'm sure, its hard to rid off. If it is a good addiction, then its a good habit, but if not, you have to find a way to get the best solution. You know, that you can't live with it for the rest of your life. So, the solution is, you have to change. That's it. A transformation may be the best alternative.

I believed, people already know this. Smoking is bad for your health. But for smokers, they just can't accept such truthful facts. They just ignore the picture. The picture on the cigarette box, which shows a skull, which represent death (I think). The picture of imperfect baby. The picture of diseases cause by smoking. They just doesn't want to accept it. They shut their eyes closed. They closed their ears tight. They are senseless when they are expose to TV or radio adverts on the subject of smoking bad effects.

Smoking is not only affecting your health, but your surrounding as well. The smoke effecting the others too. The concentration of poisonous chemicals inhaled by secondary(passive) smokers is higher compared to the smoke inhaled by an active smokers. So, if you don't care about yourself, please care about others.
Care about your partner. 
Care about your children.
Care about your family.
Care about your loved ones.
Hopefully, this could be your catalyst for you to start on stop smoking.

Just remember this, "Smoking isn't healthy for you, but to others as well."

  1. 50% of the men in Malaysia are smokers.
  2. In Kuala Lumpur, the ratio of men smokers to women smokers under the age of 30 years is 5:1.
  3. The rate of smokers among adolescents and women is fast increasing. 25% of students from the age of 15 years and above have tried smoking and 70% in this category will become smokers when they leave school.
  4. 60%-75% of cigarette smoke is inhaled by non-smokers.
  5. Only 50% of smokers reach the age of 70 years.

bapak kamek pun gia..dari kecik sampe besar merokok..dan few month before raya..nya sakit..batok sik berhenti2..nya pun slalu diperli adik bongsu mek which is she's very clever sister-10yrs old.

then until one day..back to cerita asal tek..nya sakit..then nya gi doc..doc advised la kot for stop smoking..and he did..and berjaya until now..pada mula2nya mmg teruk jak upa apak mek brehenti..sik bermaya..lemah..ya la..rindu dgn rokok..demam2..nya berjaya fight! nya kinek 100% free dah..sik sangka at 68..nya ok dgn dugaan ya.

When you experience the feeling of being medicated because of too much smoking, i guess you'll hate seeing or even touching cigarettes.
