A goal, a dream that everyone wants to achieve.
A mission and vision of every country.
A reward, benefits to hardworking and selfless effort.
Is this a kind of city that you want to live in? Well, think again. [source] |
But, "Is it worth it?". Asked yourself, think carefully before you answer.
The question is simple, and yet the answer is quite hard to find.Well, the truth is, in the process of development, we need to sacrifice.
We need to give something in return. Because, you see, we can't have it both ways.
When people build roads and highways, people used them as race circuits. They made those roads as their own playground.
Without thinking of others, they used them as a platform for their selfish actions.
In the end, they died and perhaps costs lives of others.
However, we can't blame them hundred percents, because deep inside, we know that we made it that way.We made it happens.
When we build riverside near to a village, yeah, it looks nice and cool at first, with those beautiful scenery. And yet, in the end, its just a beginning of endless disaster. People used those places for wrong purposes. Some of them, used it as a spot for drinking. As their own "pub" or a "bar". Drug addicts uses that place too, to ease their problems with drugs.
Technology, the other topic, also brings the same issue.
I know, new is always better, but some things are perhaps should never be created.
For example, when people created video game consoles, I believed, its just a tool, another channel for family togetherness. A platform for families to have fun together. A way for families to spend time at home.
But today, its the other way around. Kids and teenagers especially, rather playing games than to go out with their family. And for some, they rather play games than play actual sports outside. Sooner or later, they soon realized that they are just wasting their time and at the same time, caused health problems to their own body.
In working, another scenario, people tends to get lazy nowadays. Everything is so simple and easy. It all started from home. We have shower, so we don't have to go to the nearest river to take bath. We have transports, so we don't have to walk or run for that matter. We have elevators, so we don't have to climb the stairs. We have computers, so we don't have to write and meet other people in person (when we use instant messaging like YM and Skype).
Are we going to live this way in the future? I don't think so. [source] |
However, these things, believe it or not, in a way, it kind of spoiled the way we behave. I know it made things easier, but at the same time, it spoils us too much, don't you think? The results, we lacks of exercises and we lacks of human contacts. To young generations, they will never know the hardships of finding public phones when we need one(because they have their own cellphones). They will never know the joys and pains of outdoor sports(because they kept on playing computer games).
They will never learns all those. So, in the end, it all goes back to us. Because, you know why?
Because we made it that way. We made it happens.
